Preserving student voice and autonomy while learning about artificial intelligence

In an increasingly digital world, students have questions about what AI is and how to use it.

As an educator, my role is to welcome their curiosity and provide accurate, accessible ways to explore these technologies together. We need thoughtful educational materials that help students critically engage with AI, ask questions about the systems around them, and participate in shaping a more human-centered future.

Students should not simply adapt to AI systems; they should have opportunities to understand, question, and creatively shape them.
